A yurt holiday in autumn and winter

A yurt is not just for the summer months. They are used successfully in many cold climates around the world, from Mongolia to Alaska, as they were designed for use in some of the coldest climates on the planet. Their circular nature makes them very easy to heat, as 12% less surface area is exposed to the elements than their rectangular equivalents.

Furnished with a fantastic log burner, you will never be cold so long as you tend your fire. Holidaymakers enjoy yurts all year round, even with half a foot of snow, and always stay toasty warm.

You can make the most of Cornwall and Devon throughout the year. The changing seasons can be savoured in the peace of the quieter months. In spring, the woods are carpeted with bluebells and daffodils and the fields are full of new lambs and calves. In Autumn, you can enjoy a refreshing walk along the Coastal Path that will clear your mind and recharge your batteries. Take pleasure in the changing colour of the trees, pristine quiet beaches – ideal for horse riding, and watching the tractors hard at work harvesting the crops in the fields. In winter, wrap up warm for a brisk walk on the moor before settling down in front of a cosy open fire at one of the many fantastic pubs.
