Situated just one mile off the A39 Atlantic Highway, we offer an excellent base for visiting all the great attractions that Cornwall has to offer, from The Eden Project to Crealy Great Adventure Park. If you would enjoy a quiet walk through a country garden or an exhilarating gallop across Bodmin Moor, this outstanding holiday area has wonderful activities to offer.
The beaches around Pencuke Farm in North Cornwall are well known for their unforgettable splendour. With massive expanses of clean, golden, sandy beaches, often backed by rugged cliffs, they have captivated many holidaymakers imagination over the centuries. No matter whether the sea is calm and gentle, whether you want to be surfing or relaxing, there is a beach for you and you will feel spoilt for choice. There are miles and miles of coves and inlets to be discovered and long, unbroken stretches of golden sand that can be found all the way from Porthcothan to Sandymouth. There are also many great surfing beaches stretching along the coast including Harlyn and Constantine bay, Old Polzeath, Trebarwith Strand and the fabulous Widemouth bay. This area of Cornwall is not only privileged to have some of the most beautiful and clean beaches in Cornwall, but some of the best surf beaches in England, including our very own Crackington Haven, and just down the road Widemouth Bay. Must see beaches in this area are Constantine Bay, near Padstow and the beautiful yellow sand beach of Daymer Bay, Rock. There is a literally breathtaking walk to the secluded beach of The Strangles.
North Cornwall has a wealth of beautiful beaches, each boasting the unique opportunity to do a number of different activities and one of the most popular of these is surfing. There are many beaches to choose from, each producing conditions suitable for all standards of surfing, so grab a board and squeeze into a wetsuit. If surfing doesn't take your fancy, you will find a variety of other watersports on offer, from kite-surfing and coasteering, to wind surfing and scuba diving. We can provide you will details of a wide range of watersports centres and instructors across the North Cornwall coast.
The high cliffs along the coast provide exhilarating walking with breathtaking and dramatic seascapes. Much of the coastline between Morwenstow and Tintagel is owned by the National Trust and the coastal villages near Bude are joined by part of the 500 mile long South West Coastal Path, which rises to a spectacular 700 feet above sea level at The Strangles, near Crackington Haven. These coastal waters are ideal for observing sea birds and catching a glimpse of seals and the occasional dolphin and this sparsely populated area of North Cornwall provides a haven for wildlife. In addition, we are surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside and are very close to the stunning Bodmin Moor all combining to offer some fabulous walks. There are several public footpaths that lead out of Pencuke hamlet.
Whether you are an experienced rider travelling with your own horse, or you would like to benefit from one of the many excellent riding establishments we have in the area, North Cornwall has some fantastic and varied landscapes to enjoy on horse back. For those guests who wish to bring their own horse, the farm offers local riding out on quiet Cornish country lanes with a few off road bridleways. Alternatively you can transport your horse to a parking site and hack out along one of the many trails throughout Cornwall - there are woodland, moorland, farmland and beach rides. Davidstow Moor is only 6 miles away and leads onto the spectacular riding offered on Bodmin Moor. You can ride on some of the North Cornwall beaches (especially during off-season periods) such as Summerleze Beach or Crooklets Beach at Bude, and enjoy riding a bit further afield on the Camel Trail.
There are many places where good fishing can be found on the North Cornwall coast, with an abundance of different species for the keen angler. From rock fishing and beach fishing, to coarse fishing and river game and still water trout fishing.
There are five courses within a 15 minute drive of Pencuke Farm, from parkland settings to links courses, all offering a slightly different challenge for golfers. If you want to travel further afield, then your choice is even larger, including the St Mellion Golf Club which will be hosting the 2010 English Open.
Exploring the local area you will find some lovely towns and villages. Dotted along the coastline we have many pretty fishing ports that offer delightful places to eat and enjoy freshly caught fish. As you drive along the coastal roads, each cove you come across will inspire you with stunning views and beautiful inlets.
Cornwall is famous for the Cornish Pasty, clotted cream and scones, but these foods are just the tip of the iceberg. Cornwall offers a wide range of cuisines with a complete cross section of restaurants to suit every taste and budget. Surrounded by the sea, Cornwall is noted for its fresh seafood - local crab, succulent mussels and fresh lobster. What could be nicer than sitting on a cliff with a spectacular view, eating traditional fish and chips that were landed that morning. World-renowned chefs have located restaurants in Cornwall to be close to the abundance of our quality, fresh, local produce.

There are a number of historical attractions in Cornwall. Castles and stately homes are ideal to visit when the weather is good or bad and The National Trust and English Heritage own many fabulous properties across the county such as Launceston Castle and Tintagel Castle. Cornwall has become renowned for its botanical gardens, The Eden Project being one example. Due to the mild climate that Cornwall has, the gardens can host a range of plants and flowers that wouldn't necessarily do as well elsewhere in the UK.
Art is very popular in Cornwall and as such there have been an increasing number of art and craft galleries opening up over the last few years. Cornwall also has a very deep and intriguing past which means there are many museums well worth a visit.
The animal attractions and adventure parks in North Cornwall are always very popular with children. From the magical land of Crealy Great Adventure Park, packed with exciting attractions, to the fabulous animals you can meet at Newquay Zoo and the Tamar Otter Sanctuary.
